The Colours We Left Behind
Humanitarian project with Fondazione Francesca Rava (NGO), documenting the revitalisation of outdoor spaces and daily activities with the children — NPH Home, Guatemala
I had the opportunity to document a humanitarian project at an NPH home in Guatemala, carried out in collaboration with Fondazione Francesca Rava. The project focused on revitalizing the outdoor spaces where the children gather to eat, play, and spend their daily moments of community life.
Our team worked on refurbishing benches and tables, carefully stripping away old paint and repainting them with colorful designs. Beyond this, we contributed wherever needed — in the garden, in the kitchen, or assisting with any task that supported the home’s daily operations.
Alongside the practical work, we spent time with the children, engaging in games, activities, and shared moments of play. Through my photography, I aimed to capture both the physical labor and the emotional life of the home: the energy, the curiosity, and the joy that define the children’s everyday experiences.
The images document the transformation of the space and the bonds formed during the project, highlighting the impact of collaborative efforts that combine tangible improvements with human connection. This visual record shows how dedication and care can enrich both the environment and the lives of the children who inhabit it.
